I am reading The Hunger Games for the 4th time right now. I know I am truly obsessed! I must say it again, what a tragic story! No one really knows what might happen to us after the Apocalypse comes and Panam, although completely fictional, could defiantly happen in this world. Look at Stalin and Hitler.
Another thing that surprises me is the amount (we are lead to believe its thousands if not millions) of people who truly just suffer and die because of the poverty! That no one thinks of a better way to survive! Katniss often talks about seeing dead people laying against a building or slumped over in a chair! How unbelievable, that they didn't find another way, as did Katniss. They must of been just so overcome with fear of the capitol or they just didn't have the knowledge to do better. HMMMM, something to ponder!
Until next time ladies! Happy Hunger Games!

  1. The scariest thing in the world is losing the freedom to think for one's self. Oppression is what is experienced in the Hunger Games. The Games are basically an act of terrorism. When decisions are made out of fear, judgement is impaired. Poverty is poverty. It has always existed. I was speaking with a family who have a lot of money. They think very highly of themselves and think that because they have money they are better parents. Then I think of a lot of the parents that i know. Times are getting harder and harder financially. You don't have to be wealthy to be smart, intuitive, witty, accepting. Poverty is hard but it is oppression that I fear the most. In reference to the Games, I don't then a Panam senario could ever exist. People should not be afraid of their governments. It is the government that should be afraid of it's people.
